The Children’s Panel is the largest legal tribunal in Scotland, making vital decisions to help the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Children’s Panel members have been making decisions about the welfare of vulnerable children and young people at risk since children’s hearings were first established in 1971. Panel members are lay members of the community, aged 18 or over and come from a wide range of backgrounds. They are unpaid volunteers who are appointed to the panel for a period of three years at a time.
Children’s Hearing Scotland wanted a redesign of the Children’s Panel website for their 2014 panel recruitment campaign. The content of the new website would feature a mock trial video explaining the entire process, case studies from children and testimonials from panel members.
The 2014 Children’s Panel campaign resulted in over 1,300 applications which is more than they had in previous years.
The site has also been nominated for awards in multiple categories for both the Marketing Star Scotland and Scottish Creative awards.
